Efecto de la competencia por alimento en larvas de Phaenicia sericata Diptera: Calliphoridae

Resumen

Se determinó el efecto de la competencia por el alimento en el estado larval de Phaenicia sericata y su incidencia sobre el estado adulto, en condiciones de laboratorio. Los resultados evidenciaron que la competencia larval intraespecífica por el alimento es del tipo “no jerarquizado “. El aumento de la densidad produjo una disminución del tamaño y peso de las pupas y de los adultos emergidos. El efecto densodependiente de la competencia condujo a una reducción en la supervivencia de los estados inmaduros.
