Writing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals
Keywords:
peer review, publishing, scientific writingAbstract
Publication is an integral part of research. Scientists have an obligation to submit their work to peer review and distribute their work widely. However, few students receive formal training in scientific writing. Manuscripts must be succinct, unambiguous, accurate, and engaging. In this paper, we present students and beginning researchers with guidelines for the publication process, including organizing and writing a manuscript, surviving peer review, and serving as an effective reviewer.
