Abstract
El nicho es un concepto central en ecología y biología evolutiva. Es difícil pensar en un problema en estas disciplinas que no involu- cre, bajo alguna de sus diversas etiquetas (e.g., especialización, generalismo, especificidad, versatilidad, amplitud trófica), la idea de ni- cho. Sin embargo, a pesar de su importancia, este concepto ha sido frecuentemente malin- terpretado, y hasta su mera definición es problemática (Schoener 1989; Real & Levin 1991; Leibold 1995; Chase & Leibold 2003).
