Variabilidad fenotipica y genotipica de poblaciones de Lotus tenuis que habitan suelos con distinto pH
Abstract
Lotus tenuis is an exotic legume which has naturally spread throughout the Flooding Pampa. In order to evaluate if its tolerance to a wide range of soil pH is related to phenotypic plasticity or genetic variation, we conducted a greenhouse experiment of reciprocal transplants using clones. Three populations of L. tenuis originated from soils with pH 6, 7 and 9 were selected. Several morphological characters were measured on four succesive dates during five months. Shoot number, shoot length, the width:length ratio ofthe centralleaflet, and the aboveground biomass were different among populations growing on the same soiltype. There were also differences in the magnitud of plasticity among genotypes within the same population.
