Estructura y composición del zoobentos de ríos serranos (San Luis)
Abstract
Quantitative samples of macrozoobenthos at Potrero and Chorrillo rivers were analyzed along 7 sampling sites. Fifty-nine benthonic macroinvertebrates were recorded. The taxa more representated were Ephemeroptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, Trichoptera and Oligochaeta. Cluster analysis among sampling sitesindicated two differentsections: upper dam and below dam.The faunistic composition had significant changes along the longitudinal stream profile.The below dam section showed lower diversity,taxonomic richness, and relative abundance. Below dam communities were dominated by only a few species. Potrero’ s dam perturbation created a regulated section with particular features which stem form its isolation for long periods.
