Mesoclimas de roquedales de la Sierra de la Ventana
Abstract
We deal with the recognition of local climates -mesoclimates- between selected rock outcrops habitats at Sierra de la Ventana (38o00'-38°10' S, 61o45’a 62o08' W), Argentina. We compared five sites with different elevation, slope and aspect, between 550 to 1100m así. Simultaneous hourly data were registered during selected days in every season. Light intensity (IL), air and soil temperatures and air evaporative capacity were measured. We calculated relative humidity (HR), atmospheric vapor pressure saturation deficit (DS) and an illumination index. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was applied for seasonal and annual comparison ofsites on variables. Five mesoclimates were recognized. We concluded that aspect, altitude, slope, horizon effect and rock outcrops physical properties, influence the local expression of climatic variables. Mesoclimatic conditions in the sites, and the similarity between them, changed .seasonally. The greatest dissimilarity was found between the shady and cooler group of sites with S-SW aspect and the group of sunny sites in summits, and N-NE aspect. The last sites showed
