The combination of mountain landforms and heavy precipitations generates favorable conditions for landslides, which play an important role in nature, with effects on ecosystem function and diversity. Gastropods, due to their abundance, diversity, sensitivity to environmental factors and low dispersibility, are excellent organisms to study the effects of natural and anthropogenic perturbations. The objectives of this study were to conduct a taxonomic survey of terrestrial gastropods in areas subjected to landslides dam and to compare species richness and diversity with surrounding areas of similar height and vegetation, not affected by this disturbance. We conducted manual collection of specimens and sampled soil. A total of 22 species, belonging to 18 genera and 12 families were identified. The lowest richness and abundance of specimens, along with the highest taxonomic differentiation, occurred in the landslide sites. These results on the potential effect of landslides and embankments on the diversity of land snails should be considered preliminary due to the need to continue monitoring the longterm population trends.
