We aim to reflect on the intersections between ecological science and ecofeminisms, particularly communitybased ecoterritorial feminisms among women in Latin American academia. Our purpose is to contribute to the debates around the connections between women and ecosystems grounded in territory, through methodological contributions that deepen understanding and support the development of socio-environmental policies. To this end, we 1) briefly characterize the community-based ecoterritorial feminisms emerged in recent years in Latin America; 2) share three experiences of body-territory mapping that shed light on how this tool makes visible the multiple forms of oppression that are structurally embedded and layered within the realities we inhabit, and 3) reflect on the contributions of ecoterritorial feminisms and body mappings to ecological science. As women academics, with our disciplinary specificities and personal experiences, we advocate for a deeper recognition of women’s work in academia and in science. Through these reflections, we offer some foundations for building bridges of dialogue that allow us to delve into the causes and roots of the current issues affecting body-territory relations.
